Maha Shivaratri
4 - 5 March 2019 20:30 - 1:00 (Event completed)

Dear Friends!

We invite you to the Vedic Festival, Maha Shivaratri – The Great night of Shiva, on March 4th, from 20:30 – 01:00

Maha Shivaratri is one of the most significant Vedic festivals, usually celebrated on the day before new moon. It occurs on the night in February/March when the  planet is positioned in such a way that there is a natural upsurge of energy in a human being.  Traditionally a festive ceremony (yajna) is held all night in honor of Shiva. It’s a night to be spent awake, in meditation, doing rituals and singing mantras. Also, according to tradition, fasting is observed all night (from sunset to sunrise of the next day).
“Shiva” literally means “that which is not”, because He is timeless, eternal, unbounded emptiness. He is the creator and destroyer at the same time. We have an opportunity to approach eternity within us, to purify ourselves and raise our vibrations, to look within and truly percieve the source of our Soul.

This night is the night of Shiva’s Tandava dance. It gives us the chance to experience all the dimensions of Creation, it gives us trust in the process of letting go, of destruction, it brings purity of body, mind and soul and lets us experience Creation in it’s fullness.

We have a chance to purify ourselves and connect with the Force of Shiva, with the divine Force within us, to see the true meaning behind things and to have clarity about our own Life Path and the chosen directions.

We have prepared a small programm, to celebrate this beautiful night:

20.30 Dance ritual from the Odissi School

21.00 Bhajans

21.40 Odissi Dance ritual

22.00 Meditation

23.30  Tea break
